Juvederm Injectable Gel

Collagen and hyaluronic acid are natural components of our skin which give it both volume and support. With time, these components diminish and our skin loses structure and volume resulting in sagging, wrinkled skin. Juvederm Injectable Gel is hyaluronic acid and is used to restore the volume that has been lost over time. It is a long lasting smooth gel that is used to fill in facial wrinkles and folds as well as restore volume to thinned lips. Because hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body, it dissolves naturally with time.

The treatment is performed by injecting the gel directly into the skin or lips using an ultra-fine needle. Topical anesthetic cream can be used to eliminate any discomfort from the needle making treatments virtually painless. As with any injection, temporary bruising or swelling can occur. Ice is often applied after treatment to prevent swelling. Make up can be applied immediately after. Most patients are able to return to their daily activities following treatment.

How Does it Work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the clostridium botulism bacterium which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause many facial lines to form. Relaxing specific muscles allows lines of expression to soften, giving the skin a smooth appearance within a week. Because specific muscles are targeted, desired facial expressions are unaffected. Skin sensation also remains unchanged.

Will my facial expressions continue to look natural?

By targeting specific muscles with appropriate doses of BOTOX® Cosmetic, only unwanted negative expressions should be affected. The muscle activity that causes facial lines is simply reduced. A BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment should not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you “had work done”.

What should I expect?

The appointment begins with a personal consultation. Your individual concerns are discussed and your questions are answered. Once everything is explained the treatment only takes a few minutes. A series of tiny injections is given which doesn’t require any anesthetic. In most cases there is no down time and patients can resume their normal activities.

The effects start to become noticeable within a couple of days. Best results are seen within two weeks. These results usually last for up to four months. Repeated use is recommended to maintain a more youthful appearance.

Juvederm and BOTOX®

Botox® Cosmetic and Juvederm Injectable Gel work well together because they work in different ways in different areas to give the skin a more youthful appearance.

Lines of the upper face usually form from years of repetitive use of the muscles of expression. Forehead lines, frown lines between the eyebrows and crow’s feet around the eyes are most commonly treated with Botox.

On the other hand, the most common lines of the middle and lower face result from loss of volume. This is where Juvederm Injectable Gel comes in. It is used to replace volume, restoring facial fullness. The laugh lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth (naso-labial folds) and extending down towards the chin (Marionette lines) are most often treated in this way. Flattening of the cheeks, thinning of the lips and hollow dark circles under the eyes can also be restored using Juvederm.

Restylane

Restylane products may be used to add volume and fullness to the skin, add definition and restore facial contours, and correct fine lines, moderate-to-severe wrinkles, and folds. The Restylane family of products may be used in the cheeks, as well as in and around the lips, jawline, and chin

Pricing

Botox, which lasts from 3- 6 months, depending on which area treated.On occasion and depending on the clients request ,the client may require a touch up of botox within 2 weeks to get optimal results.

Fillers (Juvederm and Restylane Products), will last from 6 months up to 2 years, depending on the product used for specific areas
